Phew! The heat is on! One week ago there was snow on the ground and today we transition to summer heat (which will likely change by tomorrow!). I recorded a whole class today, but forgot to press the record button; we all are human. It was annoying, but it got me on my mat and made me practice a well-rounded mindful movement flow instead of standing on my head for 10 minutes, doing all arm balances, and landing in a pigeon pose. My readers, watchers, audience – you challenge me to adapt and move in ways that are not as comfortable as others for me.
These four photos are symbolic – Transition, strength, belief in yourself, rooted, free, and grounded.
Boat – Trunk/Core
Flying pigeon – Playing around with my limbs (branches), starting to take flight
Forearm Stand with straight legs – Ah – balance, rooted, grounded, take flight, use the core and balance the branches
Forearm Stand with Scorpion (not full!) legs – Make the tree your own. Your legs light and free. Have FUN!
And yes, cupping – Thank You Recovery Room in Pittsfield!!!!!
Question for everyone:
What are four poses that you can think of for yourself that strengthen and center you, ground and root you, and allow you to take flight and feel growth and a genuine lightness only achieved through this mindful movement?
